Police have unearthed more information about the female suspect involved in the murder of ‘Ganemulle Sanjaweea’ and has gone missing since the shooting incident on February 19.
According to the Police the woman identified as Ishara Sewwandi who has gone missing had purchased gold jewellery to the value of Rs 500,000 from a shop in Kalutara after the shooting incident at the Hulfsdorp court complex.
Police also has found that the woman’s brother had received to Rs 100,000 to his account after the shooting incident.
The mastermind responsible for the killing of Ganemulle Sanjeewa known as Keselbaddara Padme operating from overseas had reportedly deposited the money.
Police have arrested Sewwandi’s mother and 23 year old brother raising the number of persons arrested over the shooting to 11.
Investigations have revealed that the gunman involved in the shooting Samidhu Dilshan and his accomplice Sewwandi had travelled to the Dunugaha area, a day before the shooting an withdrawn Rs 50,000 from a bank. They had later travelled in hired vehicle to a guest house at Kaduwela from where they left for the murder on the following day.
The driver of the vehicle has been traced.
