President Gotabaya Rajapaksa who fled the country early this morning is yet to submit his resignation letter, a senior government official said.
He said that both, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena and President's Secretary Gamini Senarath had said that the letter of resigation had not been handed over to them.
The President had earlier officially informed the Speaker and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe about his intended resignation on Wednesday.
