President Ranil Wickremesinghe has met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on the sidelines of the COP-28 Summit in Dubai, UAE today (3).
During the meeting, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have underlined the necessity of expanding their long-standing collaboration in the political, economic, and cultural spheres.
President Wickremesinghe emphasized the country’s efforts to address economic challenges and the excessive debt crisis.
In response, he was briefed on Pakistan’s efforts to improve the country's economy by Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Both leaders further brought out the significance of collaborating to confront common concerns, such as promoting peace and prosperity in South Asia and mitigating the negative impacts of ecological turnovers.
They pledged to persist in promoting cooperation in combating shared challenges, promoting peace, security, mutual prosperity and sustainable development in the countries.
