President Ranil Wickremesinghe paid his final respects to the late former Finance Minister Ronnie de Mel yesterday (Feb. 28), at his residence in Kollupitiya.
The remains lie at his residence at No.5, Charles Drive, Colombo 03 until February 29 for the public to pay their last respects.
The cortege will be brought to University of Ruhuna at 2:00 p.m.
Ruhuna University’s Vice Chancellor Senior Prof. Sujeeva Amarasena and Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Samath Chandana Ediriweera will accept the remains.
In accordance with his final wishes, the casket will be placed in a hall next to the university's indoor stadium.
Final rites will therefore take place at University of Ruhuna grounds tomorrow.
