President takes over two institutions
Sahasya Investment Limited and National Equipment and Machinery Organization has been taken over by President Ranil Wickremesinghe as Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies.
A gazette extraordinary has been issued by President Wickremesinghe on July 31 announcing the taking over of the above institutions.
Sahasya Investment was previously under the Ministry of Transport and Highways while the National Equipment and Machinery Organization was under the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing.

Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
