President Ranil Wickremesinghe today called on ITAK’s Mavai Senathiraja at his residence in Jaffna today.
President Wickremesinghe addressed several meetings in Jaffna and thereafter met with Mr Senathiraja at his residence in Thellippalai.
Last week the ITAK had decided to extend support to SJB candidate Sajith Premadasa. However Mr Senathiraja was not present at the meeting when the decision was taken.
But, Mr Senathiraja later told the media that he was also going with the party decision.
However, the ITAK members are divided between supporting President Wickremesinghe and the SJB candidate. Some of them want to support the Tamil common candidate.
