President Ranil Wickremesinghe said he would win the economic war similar to how Sri Lanka obtained victory from terrorism. He added that measures will be introduced to create economic stability in the country.
President Wickremesinghe said this during his address to the Tri Forces & Police officers and other rankers at the Air Force Base, Anuradhapura, as the Commander in Chief of the armed forces.
He pointed out that he is there only to do the right thing, but not to carry out popular actions that are favored by the people. He added that introducing of popular actions had only brought destruction to the country.
President Wickremesinghe added that anyone can express ideas freely and has the freedom to criticize him but does No one have the right to behave violently in roadsides.
Everyone should learn to do the right thing, he added that he submitted the report on agreement of International Monitory Fund (IMF) to parliament to check whether the parliament MP’s has the strength to do the correct thing.
The president also elaborated that unlike the war situation of the past the war situation in futures would be based on technology and knowledge, therefore in order to the Tri Forces and police are to be prepared to face such challenges the all forces need to be armed with the knowledge of Technology and Knowledge.
