The Meteorology Department issuing weather forecast today (4) said prevailing showery condition in the South-Western parts of the island is expected to continue further.
Showers or thundershowers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-western and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
According to the weather forecast, showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere during the evening or night.
Very heavy falls above 150 mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts
Heavy falls above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Central and Uva provinces, it also said.
Met. Department advised general public to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages that may cause due to temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
