Issuing a gazette today the government has given the approval to reduce the prices of 60 medicines.
This was approved by the Minister of Health, Keheliya Rambukkwella under the Section 142 of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority Act, No. 5 of 2015.
Insulin, thyroxine and Lanzapine are among the itmes subjected to a maximum retail price reduct of 16 per cent.
This price revision will come in effect from June 26 onwards.
