The funeral of veteran musician and Chancellor of University of Visual and Performing Arts Emeritus Professor Sanath Nandasiri will take place today at 5 p.m. at General Cemetery, in Borella.
The remains were taken to the University of Visual and Performing Arts this morning from his residence at Embuldeniya. Students and the members of academic staff will pay their last respects to Sangeeth Nipun Sanath Nandasiri who left his mark in the country’s music industry.
Later on, the remains will be kept at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) where he sharpened his creative music skills. Remains will be placed for a few hours at SLBC for the artists, his contemporaries and the public to pay their final respects before being taken to the cemetery for cremation.
