The report of the Cabinet appointed committee on power sector reforms is to be presented to the National Council on December 8.
Namal Rajapaksa, Chairman to the sub committee on identifying priorities in formulation of short, medium and long-term national policies of the National Council said the proposals of the sub committee will be included in the report which will be presented to the National Council on December 8.
The report received the approval of the Cabinet on Monday and was handed over to Mr. Rajapaksa yesterday by Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera.
This report includes recommendations to a number of concerns in the electricity sector, including power outages and excessive increases in electricity tariffs and the inability to meet the increasing electricity demand.
