Protest against IMF in Colombo
A protest was held today by a group calling itself the 'Jana Aragala Viyaparaya' (People's Struggle Movement) against what they called the tough conditions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in granting assistance.
About 300 protesters gathered outside the Fort Railway Station and chanted slogans and held placards during the protest this afternoon.
The protesters accused the government of agreeing to conditions imposed by the IMF.
