Rail disruption continues amid Engine Driver shortfall

According to Sri Lanka Railways (SLR), the shortfall of Engine Drivers has resulted in cancellation of eight more trains today (November 1).

Eight scheduled trains were cancelled on Monday (30) whilst a total of twelve trains were reported to have been cancelled on Tuesday (31).

Reportedly 150 Engine Drivers lacking and the SLR has not filled the workforce gap in the railway industry.
