Showers or thundershowers are likely over most of the island today after 2:00 pm, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Northern and Eastern provinces are predicted to see multiple spells of rain, a Duty Meteorologist of the Met. Department added.
Parts of Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces will have misty mornings.
Meanwhile, sea areas off shores extending from Hambantota to Colombo via Galle will experience showers or thundershowers.
Winds will strike north-easterly between 20-30 KMPH. The sea regions along the coastlines of Puttalam and Mannar, which stretch from Colombo to Kankesanturai, may have occasional wind gusts of up to 40 KMPH.
Offshore waters extending from Colombo to Kankesanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar are expected to tone down although strong gusts of wind and turbulent waters are foreseen during thunderstorms transiently.
