The Meteorology Department said that rainy conditions are expected to enhance over Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva and Central provinces from today onwards.
They predicted that Cloudy skies are expected over most parts of the island. According to them Showers or thunder showers occur at times in Northern, Eastern, North-central, Uva and Central provinces and in Hambantota district.
Heavy showers above 100 mm are expected at some places in North-Central, Uva and Eastern provinces and in Matale, and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
They also added Showers or thundershowers would also occur at several places elsewhere during the afternoon or Night.
Fairly strong winds of (30-40) kmph are expected at times over Eastern slope of the central hills and Northern, North-central, Eastern and North-western provinces and in Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
The Department added that misty conditions could be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.
