One of the daughters of former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Chamithri Jayanika Rambukwella, who was granted bail earlier yesterday, was remanded after failing to meet the bail conditions imposed by the Court.
Earlier, along with Chamithri Rambukwella, Amali Rambukwella and her husband, Isuru Pulasthi Bandara were arrested based on the investigation carried out by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act over undeclared assets of nearly Rs 134 million, including a residential property and motor vehicles.
On Thursday, former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his wife, Kusum Priyadarshini Epa, and daughter, Chandula Ramali Rambukwella, were remanded after failing to fulfil bail conditions by the Colombo Magistrate Court. They were granted bail yesterday after meeting bail conditions.
The trio was arrested by CIABOC on charges of money laundering in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged illegal asset accumulation amounting to Rs. 97.35 million.
