Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) refuted social media reports of a video containing false information regarding a container operation that took place at the Jaya Container Terminal at the Port of Colombo currently circulating on social media.
“The container operation included in the video is a re-export of radioactive materials for disposal with the approval of the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council. The deployment of the Special Task Force is a part of the official protocol when such an operation is carried out,” SLPA said in a statement.
SLPA also requested the public not to be deceived by the false information spread by irresponsible media institutes and social media users.
