Regional Director of Health Services (Mullaitivu) Dr K. Akilendran died in a fatal accident involving a tipper last evening in Omantha, Vavuniya, police said.
The cab vehicle collided with the tipper that was coming from the opposite direction. The Director succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to Vavuniya Hospital for treatment.
Vavuniya police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
