The release of 991 BYD vehicles from the Sri Lanka Customs following an agreement reached between the Customs and the importing company commenced on Sunday from the Hambantota Port.
The agreement was reached in the Court of Appeal. Among the agreements reached was that a technical experts should be appointed to inspect whether the vehicles motor capacity exceeds 100 kW.
Six of the vehicles – two each from three categories will be held for testing purposes.
