Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne announced today (21) in Parliament that he has tabled the report of the Special Committee appointed by him, to investigate and report on the complaints submitted to him regarding the conduct of MP Dr. Ramanathan Archchuna.
He further mentioned that the committee was chaired by the Deputy Chairperson of Committees, Hemali Weerasekara, comprising of members Vijitha Herath and R.M. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, and this report be referred to the Committee on Ethics and Privileges.
Meanwhile, the Speaker also made an announcement regarding the requests related to the security of Members of Parliament. Accordingly, the Speaker announced that the requests, submitted to him from time to time by the Honourable Members of Parliament requesting to take necessary actions regarding their security concerns, have been forwarded to the Acting-Inspector General of Police for appropriate actions.
