(UPDATED) - One hundred and three of the Myanmar nationals who were rescued off the northern coast over the weekend have been remanded until January 2 in addition to a 14 day quarantine period, officials said.
They were remanded by Mallakam Magistrate who visited those rescued by the Navy on Sunday and placed at a Navy camp in Kankesanthurai.
The quarantine order was issued earlier by health authorities.
The total number rescued were 105, but three of them are in hospital receiving medical attention.
