The restrictions imposed due to the COVID19 situation has been further relaxed with effect from today (10), but interprovincial travel will remained banned for the next two weeks.
Director General of Health Services Dr Asela Gunawardena has issued the fresh guidelines.
Among the highlights are places of religious worship can be opened, weddings which were banned earlier can be held with the attendance of 25 per cent of the capacity of the venue or a maximum of 150 persons while number of persons attending funerals has been increased to 50 from 15.
Meetings which were prohibited earlier will be allowed only with 25% of the seating capacity while conferences, seminars and brand launches with maximum 50 onsite participants.
For public transportation in the outstations the limit will be 50 per cent while in the western province it is 30 per cent.
Economic centres will be able continue wholesale operations under strict health guidelines.
