A consignment of drugs worth over four million rupees received via air mail from Germany and England to Colombo Central Mail Exchange were detained by officers of the Customs Narcotics Control Division.
Customs Media Spokesman Sivali Arukgoda said the 25 unclaimed parcels were sent to fake addresses in Colombo, Maharagama, Battaramulla, Boralesgamuwa, Panadura, Moratuwa, and Kandy.
The parcels were inspected after it was revealed in investigations that the addresses were fake.
Accordingly, 2,193 pills of Methamphetamine drug, 1.74 kg of ‘Kush’ cannabis, and 29 grams of Amphetamine have been uncovered.
The stock of drugs were handed over to the Police Narcotics Division for further investigations.
