Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) members held protests in several areas last night (26) demanding that the government resolves issues related to the high cost of living, including a reduction in fuel prices.
SJB MPs took part in the protests held in several areas including Kurunegala, Matara and Kotmale.
Members of the SJB representing the Kotmale Pradeshiya Sabhawa held a protest in Kotmale Tawalantenna, urging the government to find an immediate solution to public issues including increased fuel prices.
The protest was held last night with the participation of more than 50 party supporters with many of them holding 'pandam' or improvised torches prepared with coconut leaves or cloth wrapped on wooden sticks.
Many from various parts of the country, such as Kotmale and Irampoda, chanted slogans condemning the government.
