The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has nominated four names to the Election Commission to fill in the National List MP positions entitled to the party.
The Commissioner General of the Election Commission Saman Sri Ratnayake said that the names of Mano Ganesan, Nizam Kariapper, Sujeewa Senasinghe and Muthtu Muhummadu were named as the four SJB’s National list MP’s.
The names are to be sent to be gazetted.
Following the parliamentary Election held on November 14, 2024 the SJB secured five National List MP Seats. On November 19, the General Secretary of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Ranjith Madduma Bandara, was nominated to fill in one of the vacancies..
Following that the party held several discussions regarding filling the National list MP positions. Several factions that extended support to the SJB were demanding national list positions.
