Sri Lanka Naval Ship Shakthi with a shipment of 40 tons medical-grade oxygen has arrived at the Colombo Port.
The ship departed from Chennai.
Meanwhile, an Indian ship which left the Visakhapatnam Port with freight of approx.100 tons of oxygen arrived at the port of Colombo on Sunday (22) evening.
The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Shakti was rushed to Sri Lanka on a personal request of Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne from the Chief of Naval Staff of India, to assist the prompt dispatch of medical-grade oxygen, ordered from India.
Earlier President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had directed to keep up the supply chain of oxygen for treatment of COVID-19 patients.
