A 500 million US dollar finance agreement was signed between Sri Lanka and the World Bank today (3).
Hartwig Schafer, World Bank's Vice President for the South Asia Region said the finance agreement aimed at providing safe, climate-resilient roads to connect agricultural supply chains in Sri Lanka.
“The Inclusive Connectivity and Development Project will help connect Sri Lankan people to prosperity,” Mr. Schafer said in a tweet.
Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Secretary to the Finance Ministry S.R. Attygalle were present at the signing event.
