In response to a request by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Sri Lanka is set to receive 55, 000 Metric Tonnes of Muriate of Potash (MOP) fertilizer from the World Food Programme (WFP).
Sri Lanka's Permanent Representation to the WFP in Rome has requested to initiate action to effect the shipment of MOP fertilizer to Colombo Port as a grant.
The fertilizer stock is a donation initiated by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
