The Sri Lanka Hotels Association has urged hoteliers most of whom are the informal sector in Arugam Bay to exercise caution in the wake of the warning issued by the US Embassy of a possible attack on tourist sites.
"We informed the informal sector hotels who are not our members to be cautious of the situation and to be in touch with the security forces," THASL President M. Shanthikumar told TimesOnline.
He noted that they have not received reports of any tourists leaving the area following the warning issued by the US Embassy as yet.
THASL said they have no member hotels in the Arugam Bay area and that most hotels are part of the informal tourism sector. (SD)
