The State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC) opened its 66th outlet today in Kegalle.
The new outlet is part of a broader island-wide initiative spearheaded by the Minister of Health to ensure the public has access to high-quality medicines at fair and affordable prices.
Following the launch of the 65th branch in Narahenpita in June, the new Kegalle outlet continues the SPC’s commitment to expanding its services.
The pharmacy is staffed by experienced pharmacists and offers high-standard medications that undergo four levels of testing at the SPC's quality control laboratory, ensuring safety and public confidence.
Special benefits include a 5% discount for senior citizens, pregnant women, children under five, and holders of the "Ranaviru Viru Sara" card.
The outlet is open from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Founded in 1971 by Professor Senaka Bibile, the SPC has been serving the nation for over 53 years, maintaining its mission of providing reliable and affordable medicines. The Corporation also plans to extend its reach further, with new outlets scheduled to open in Batticaloa, Trincomalee, and Puttalam in the coming months.
