Two men and a woman have been arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting the attempted murder of a person have been arrested by the Special Task Force (STF).
The suspects had allegedly tried to extort Rs. 2 million from a person in Kandana on August 4 this year and had also aided and abetted the attempted shooting of a person.
STF officers arrested the suspects last night (30) from Kiriwattuduwa, Dompe and Udugampola. The two male suspects are aged 31 and 42 years while the female suspect is 32 years of age. They were arrested by three separate STF teams from STF Headquarters, Intelligence Unit and the Sri Jayewardenepura STF camp.
The STF also recovered 57 rounds of live T-56 ammunition, a mobile phone and a van allegedly used by the suspects.
