Special Task Force (STF) personnel who inspected a house currently being built at Yatadolawatta in Matugama yesterday recovered 1.55 kilograms of heroin, 50 grams of ICE, a foreign manufactured micro pistol and an electronic scale used to measure weight of drugs.
The STF had raided the location based on a tip-off given to STF Headquarters, Police Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Nihal Thalduwa said.
The seized drugs, micro pistol and the scale have been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) for further investigations.
No one has been arrested in connection with the discovery thus far and the PNB is conducting investigations to arrest the suspects, the Police Spokesman added.
