Strong winds and heavy showers are expected today due to active south-west monsoon conditions, the Meteorology Department warned.
People in Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and North-Central provinces and in Hambantota, Trincomalee, Mannar, Vavuniya and Kilinochchi districts are told to be vigilant as strong winds are expected to blow across the above areas.
Heavy rains are expected in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts while fairly heavy showers are expected at some places in Western province, the Meteorology Department said.
