Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Leader and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa called on the public to vote in favour of the SJB at the Local elections and thereby a give warning to the government which has failed to fulfill its promises.
Addressing the party May Day rally at the Thalawakele Palygrounds, Mr Premadasa said it is now clear that the government has failed to keep to its pre-election promises and it was time to give a signal to the government about their failure.
“Pachakara anduwata honda padamak Ugannmu” (Teach a good lesson to government which has given false promises).
He said, by voting for the SJB at the Local elections, the signal to Anura Kumara Dissanayake and his party could be given.
He recalled that this was the first Local government election the SJB was contesting.

“This is the party which said electricity tariff will be reduced by 33 per cent,” he said.
“This is the opportunity to give a warning at the upcoming local elections,” he added.
