Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today called for a snap Presidential election.
Addressing the protesters who had converged near the Presidential Secretariat following the Samagi Jana Balawegaya's (SJB) mass protest rally in Colombo this evening, Mr Premadasa said the party's struggle to force out the oppressive and undemocratic present regime commences from today.
He said the SJB would initiate a people's movement that would force out the Government and the SJB Government that comes to power afterwards will initiate a programme to get the country back on its feet.
Today's protest in Colombo is only the beggining and the SJB will also commence agitations at district level in the coming days aimed at forcing out the Government, he further said.
