Former Governor Azath Salley has sought a court order preventing a private bank auctioning a 24 perch land owned by him in Pitakotte.
Colombo Commercial High Court Judge Sumith Perera today ordered the private bank to submit facts by November 14.
The bank had filed action against Mr Salley on the grounds that he failed to pay back Rs 5.8 million loan taken against the property.
The bank had published a newspaper advertisement saying that the land was to be auctioned.
