A foreign exchange crisis has promoted the closure of the Sapugaskanda oil refinery for at least 50 days, Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila announced today (15).
He told a news conference that despite the closure there will be no fuel shortage in the country as the government hopes to import the stocks.
He said that after the foreign exchange crisis is resolved the refinery will be reopened.
