The Sapugaskanda oil refinery, which was closed for seven weeks due to the lack of crude oil has resumed operations today (7).
Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila in his twitter account has confirmed the resumption of operations.
However, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) sources said there were questions about the continuity of operations as it was not clear if further shipments of crude oil were due in the country.
They said that the shipment which arrived had been ordered earlier before the closure took place last month.
