Vesak scammers are exploiting the festive spirit with fake giveaways like "50 GB free data" to trick users into clicking harmful links, a fact checking organisation revealed.
These messages, often disguised as offers from trusted telecom providers, are sophisticated phishing attempts designed to steal personal data or install malware.
Fact-checking organization Fact Crescendo has issued a warning against the scam: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Always verify through official websites or apps before taking action."
