All government and government-approved schools will close for the second term vacation on August 17, the Ministry of Education announced today (August 15).
Accordingly, schools will reopen for the next academic term on August 28.
The Government is finalising a list of names to be posted as heads of Sri Lanka’s missions abroad with ex-Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya assuming the position of Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa has been arrested by the CID in Beliatta, the Police said.
The CID has arrested Susantha de Silva, former Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) for allegedly misappropriating 6.1 million rupees in 2014.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa has been remanded until January 27.
