The Sri Lanka Army has appointed a seven-member special investigation committee to probe Sunday's tragic accident during the Fox Hill Supercross race that left seven people dead.
The committee comprises senior military officers and will be headed by a Major General.
Matters the committee has been tasked with investigating include causes for the accident, who was responsible, whether the security of spectators had been ensured, whether the responsible parties had ensured the safety of the race track and what measures should be taken to prevent such incidents in the future, the Army said in a statement.
