The number of confirmed deaths in the country from COVID-19 neared 300 yesterday with seven more patients confirmed to have died from the disease.
The latest deaths confirmed by the Director General of Health Services, were five males and two females aged 86, 73, 76, 61, 61, 67 and 62 years. One of the deceased was a prison inmate being treated at the Prison Hospital. The others were residents of Colombo 06, Nittambuwa, Ratnapura, Colombo 13, Colombo 06 and Enderamulla.
The seven deaths bring the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the country to 297.
