Seven persons out of the nine suspects involved in a clash with the police at the fuel station at Athurugiriya Fuel station were remanded until Monday, June 20.
A female suspect and her husband who were among the nine suspects were released on bail, while the nine suspects were produced before Magistrate Court today.
Police told the Times Online that the people waiting in the fuel queue on Friday had behaved in an unruly manner at the filling station demanding fuel when the available stocks ran out.
Six police officers were injured due to the tense situation and were admitted to the Homagama Base Hospital.
