Police have made several arrests in relation to attacks on Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) politicians and their properties that took place on May 9 this year.
A 33-year-old resident of Kaduwela was arrested by the Western Province South Crime Investigation Division yesterday (22) in connection with attacking and causing damage to the residence of SLPP MP Premanath C. Dolawatte.
Meanwhile, a 50-year-old resident of Chilaw has been arrested by Chilaw Police on charges of attacking a double cab belonging to the Kalpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha (PS). The PS Chairman and two workers were assaulted and injured in the incident.
The Colombo Crime Division has also arrested a 26-year-old woman from Kollupitiya over an incident where a PS member of the Ambalangoda Pradeshiya Sabha was assaulted and pushed into the Beira Lake, and also robbed of his wallet.
