The licences of several filling stations that supplied fuel without adhering to the quota system established through the National Fuel Pass QR distribution mechanism will be canceled, the Power and Energy Ministry stated.
The decision was taken during a progress review meeting held yesterday with officials of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd. (CPSTL)
The immediate recovery of Rs. 105 billion owed to CPC by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), cargo plans for an uninterrupted fuel supply and continuation of the refinery operations were also discussed at yesterday's meeting, the Ministry added.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
