The Sri Lanka Railways (SLR) said five scheduled office trains will not be running this evening (May 10), owing to the token strike action staged by Railway Station Masters.
Besides, all night mail trains apart from the Anuradhapura night mail train will be cancelled today.
Mr. Sumedha Somaratne, President of the Station Masters’ Association said that their demand was to replace the Deputy General Manager (Commercial) of Railways.
He said the token strike will continue until midnight today (May 10).
Passengers travelling on the railway line have been significantly inconvenienced due to the symbolic strike since midnight yesterday.
