Severe lighting advisory issued
The Meteorology Department issuing an advisory for severe lightning today said that thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning is likely to occur at several places in Eastern, Central and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa and Hambantota districts today.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers, the Department sad.
The general public are kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by lightning activity.
