The Meteorology Department predicted that Showers or thunder showers are expected tomorrow. According to the Department showers and thunder showers would occur at times in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, Polonnaruwa, Hambantota and Matara Districts.
Fairly heavy showers of about 75mm can be expected at some places in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale, Nuwara-Eliya and Hambantota districts.
The department predicted few showers may occur in the Northern Province and in Anuradhapura district. In addition showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere during the afternoon or night.
Fairly strong winds of (30-40) kmph are expected over Northern, Eastern, and North- central, North-western and Southern provinces.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.
The Meteorology Department also encouraged the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thunder showers.
