The Meteorology Department forecasts that showers or thundershowers would occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, North-western, Uva and North-central provinces during the afternoon or night.
According to them few showers may occur in the Western Province and in Galle, Matara, Puttalam and Mannar districts during the morning hours as well.
The Department said fairly heavy falls of above 50 mm are likely at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces.
