The Department of Meteorology says showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa, Western, Central, North-western, Uva provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the day or night.
The department further stated that mainly fair weather would prevail elsewhere over the island.
In the meantime, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo during the night.
Winds will be south-westerly over the sea areas from Kankesanthurai to Galle via Mannar and Colombo and will be south-easterly or inconstant in direction in the rest of the sea areas around the island and will strike at 20-30 KMPH.
Sea areas off the coast extending from Batticaloa to Pottuvil will be moderate. The other sea areas around the island will remain moderate although, temporary strong gusts of wind and very turbulent waters are likely to occur during thunder showers.
